{"id":1004098711,"date":"2014-06-18T10:28:02","date_gmt":"2014-06-18T18:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=270692"},"modified":"2020-04-01T06:02:58","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T14:02:58","slug":"29th-street-capital-acquires-mf-property-ebay-to-expand-presence-in-illinois","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/29th-street-capital-acquires-mf-property-ebay-to-expand-presence-in-illinois\/","title":{"rendered":"29th Street Capital Acquires MF Property; eBay to Expand Presence in Illinois"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Gabriel Circiog, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Real estate investment and advisory firm 29th Street Capital recently announced it has closed on a multi-family property located in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. <a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/06\/29th-Street-Capital-logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-270693\" title=\"29th Street Capital logo\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/06\/29th-Street-Capital-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"294\" height=\"90\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Located on the city\u2019s Near South Side, bounded by the South Branch of the Chicago River, Bridgeport is an ethnically diverse community that serves as an affordable, safe and family-friendly alternative to some of the more expensive nearby areas such as the South or West Loop neighborhoods. 29th Street Capital has announced plans to upgrade the interior and exterior of the building. Besides the building renovations, the firm also plans to create a large outdoor common patio in a previously unused space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current residents are excited about the renovations, and the property is certainly going to be attractive both to renters and future buyers. Bridgeport is a gentrifying neighborhood with a rich history,\u201d said Dan Howard, director of acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>29th Street Capital intends to seek other investment opportunities in the Chicagoland area. The firm will continue to pursue value-add deals which will offer its investors above market return.<\/p>\n<p>In other local real estate news, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/chicago\/news\/2014\/06\/16\/ebay-to-growpresence-in-illinois-and-get-tax.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Chicago Business Journal<\/a><\/strong> reports that Braintree will move into 60,000 square feet of leased space in Chicago\u2019s Merchandise Mart. The online and mobile payment platform has been acquired by eBay in 2013. eBay will also expand its presence in Illinois and will add 360 new jobs over the course of the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>eBay has received a tax credit, under the state\u2019s Economic Development for a Growing Economy, worth an estimated $12 million over 10 years from The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
