{"id":1004098686,"date":"2014-06-18T13:14:23","date_gmt":"2014-06-18T21:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=270651"},"modified":"2022-12-07T21:54:04","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T05:54:04","slug":"sundt-to-manage-construction-of-science-building-at-sccds-national-city-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/sundt-to-manage-construction-of-science-building-at-sccds-national-city-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Sundt to Manage Construction of Science Building at SCCD\u2019s National City Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em>By Alex Girda, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Taking a crucial step toward starting work on a new science building on its National City campus, the Southwestern Community College District has selected Sundt Construction to manage the $15.3 million project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Designed by Johnson Favaro architects, the two-story, 25,000-square-foot facility will provide laboratory space for the college\u2019s chemistry, biology, microbiology and anatomy programs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Also part of the project is the renovation of 10,000 square feet of office space that will be occupied by the college&#8217;s Small Business Development Center and Contract Opportunities offices. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2015 and to be completed in 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/06\/san-diego-sundt-construction.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-270655\" title=\"san diego sundt construction\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/06\/san-diego-sundt-construction.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sundt&#8217;s other recent \u00a0higher education projects in the state include the three-year-old Social Sciences and Management Building at the University of California&#8217;s Merced campus (pictured at right) and a $59 million research facility that opened in 2013 at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Word of Sundt&#8217;s selection by the community college district came a few days after Sundt had announced the addition of five new team members to its San Diego office.
