Listed among TripAdvisor\u2019s Top 10 Hot New Hotels in the U.S. in 2013, The Alexander in downtown Indianapolis has been awarded LEED Silver certification in the New Construction & Major Renovations category.<\/span><\/p>\n

Managed by Dolce Hotels and Resorts, of Rockleigh, N.J., the property offers 157 guest rooms with stunning views of the city, along with 52 extended stay suites. Amenities include a fitness center, multiple restaurants and meeting rooms totaling 16,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSustainability was central to the vision for The Alexander and CityWay. From construction through completion, environmentally-friendly practices were a priority,\u201d Scott Travis, senior vice president of development at Buckingham Companies, said in a news release. <\/span><\/p>\n

The hotel is part of CityWay, a new 10-acre neighborhood developed by Buckingham Companies at South and Delaware streets, in the heart of the city\u2019s downtown. The $155 million project encompasses a mix of high-quality residences, office and retail space, a public park and a state-of-the-art YMCA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED is the primary program for the design, construction and operation of green buildings. More than 44,000 projects are currently participating in the commercial and institutional LEED rating systems, comprised of more than 8 billion square feet of construction space in 120 countries. <\/span><\/p>\n

In other news, Online Tech, a Michigan-based company that provides data center and cloud computing services, has announced an investment of more than $10 million in the acquisition and renovation of a new cloud computing facility in Indianapolis. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Located on West Merrill Street, the new 44,000 square foot data center design will support three MW of electrical load and 16,000 square feet of raised floor space. Upon completion during this year\u2019s third quarter, the facility will bring 25 permanent jobs for IT, sales and data center professionals in Indianapolis. <\/span><\/p>\n

Online Tech currently has 100,000 square feet in four data centers in Michigan. The Indianapolis facility is the company\u2019s first investment outside its home state. <\/span><\/p>\n
