{"id":1004095414,"date":"2014-04-25T08:32:11","date_gmt":"2014-04-25T16:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=256752"},"modified":"2022-12-05T14:37:17","modified_gmt":"2022-12-05T22:37:17","slug":"jbg-breaks-ground-on-31-story-residential-tower-in-rosslyn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/jbg-breaks-ground-on-31-story-residential-tower-in-rosslyn\/","title":{"rendered":"JBG Breaks Ground on 31-Story Residential Tower in Rosslyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>By Adrian Maties, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/04\/21611784.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-256753\" title=\"21611784\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2014\/04\/21611784.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"155\" \/><\/a>Nearly three months after\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.multihousingnews.com\/news\/jbg-companies-teams-with-state-teachers-retirement-system-of-ohio-on-arlington-county-mixed-use-development\/1004097423.html\">announcing<\/a><\/em>\u00a0it had entered into a joint venture partnership with the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio to develop a 31-story, glass residential tower in Rosslyn, Va., the JBG Cos.\u00a0broke ground on the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The residential tower is the first phase of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centralplace.com\/\">Central Place<\/a><\/em>, a nearly 1 million-square-foot, two-building development located at the geographic center of Rosslyn. It will offer 377 residences, 25,000 square feet of retail space, a 17,000-square-foot public plaza, as well as three levels of below-ground and three levels of above-ground parking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cCentral Place is truly a best-in-class development, that is most special for what it will provide the public in terms of amenities \u2014 and in terms of a new place to be, and become, a true community,\u201d said Andrew Van Horn, a JBG principal, in a statement for the press. \u201cRosslyn is the gateway to Arlington County, and it\u2019s fitting that it should be a community of distinction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">JBG hired Beyer Blinder and Belle Architects and Planners to design Central Place. Toronto-based Cecconi Simone is the interior designer. The developers expect to deliver the tower in 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The second building, a 525,000-square-foot office tower, will start construction later. In the meantime, JBG has provided CentralSpace, a temporary rain garden and public open space offering casual seating, on the site at Wilson Boulevard and North Moore Street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cRosslyn is fortunate to have such a committed partner in JBG,\u201d observed Jay Fisette, chair of the Arlington County Board. \u201cThey approach their work very grounded in the desire to create great places \u2014 not just buildings \u2014 and Rosslyn and Arlington County will be better for it.
