About 75 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Among them were representatives from Loudoun County, Dominion Virginia Power and CyrusOne.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new enterprise-class multi-tenant data center will be constructed on 14 acres of land purchased by CyrusOne in the Loudoun Tech Center in Sterling, Va. The land is expected to accommodate a shell of approximately 400,000 square feet, with as much as 240,000 square feet of raised floor space, 36,000 square feet of Class A office space and as much as 48 megawatts of critical load.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CyrusOne will build the new facility using its innovative Massively Modular design engineering approach. It optimizes materials sourcing and enables delivery of industry-leading energy optimization and just-in-time data hall inventory to meet customer demand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project will be developed in phases. CyrusOne expects the first phase to be completed in October. It calls for the construction of a 124,000-square-foot shell with 60,000 square feet of raised floor space, 15,000 square feet of office space and 12 megawatts of critical load.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to expand our footprint to Northern Virginia in order to meet existing customer demand for space in the region. In addition, this new data center will enable us to more effectively serve our growing customer base on the East Coast. We look forward to providing our enterprise co-location solutions to Fortune 1000 customers in this sizable market,\u201d said Tesh Durvasula, chief commercial officer of CyrusOne, in a statement for the press.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Northern Virginia is home to one of the world\u2019s largest clusters of data center real estate.
