The company is also repurposing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.multihousingnews.com\/cities\/indianapolis\/milhaus-breaks-ground-on-26m-redevelopment-in-historic-district\/1004088046.html\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>the former Mitchell &amp; Scott industrial site<\/i><\/a> downtown into a 235-unit rental complex, while Flaherty &amp; Collins is redeveloping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.multihousingnews.com\/cities\/indianapolis\/flaherty-collins-to-develop-81m-apartment-project-on-market-square-arena-site\/1004087145.html\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>the former site of the Market Square Arena<\/i><\/a> into a 300-unit luxury apartment high-rise with 43,600 square feet of retail space.<\/p>\n<p>This year alone, developers are expected to complete 3,900 apartments in Indianapolis, an increase from last year\u2019s 2,600 completed rentals. This is up from a 2.2 percent increase last year. Job gains are expected to generate significant renter demand, but not enough to counterbalance the surge in rental construction.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, homes in Indianapolis will continue to remain within the reach of many residents.
