The deal, announced Feb. 1, marks Suntex&#8217;s second acquisition of a local\u00a0marina. Last year, the Dallas-based company&#8217;s Suntex Marinas affiliate bought the 325-slip York River Yacht Haven in Gloucester Point.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/hamptonroads.com\/2014\/02\/downtown-portsmouth-marina-sold-dallas-company\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>The Virginian-Pilot<\/em><\/a>, Suntex Ventures bought Tidewater Yacht Marina\u00a0for $8.75 million from\u00a0GSKS Properties, a company controlled by Gordon and Katherine Shelton. The couple had owned the facility since 1978.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tidewater Yacht Marina is a full-service destination marinas located at Mile Marker \u201c0\u2033 on the Intracoastal Waterway, \u00a0midway between New York and Florida. The marina features 300 wet slips including a megayacht dock, a comprehensive marine service center, marine store, floating pool, and fuel dock.\u00a0It is also home to the 757 Crave on the Harbor restaurant, as well as a yacht brokerage firm, North Point Yacht Sales. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tyamarina.com\/864.h.The_Best_of_what_a_marina_should_be!\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Tidewater Yacht Marina website<\/em><\/a>, some 4,000 boaters stop there each year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Suntex Ventures announced that John Muscarella, a 27-year Tidewater veteran and the marina&#8217;s longtime dockmaster, will stay on as its general manager.\u00a0\u00a0The marina has 10 employees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTidewater has been a true landmark for yachts in Virginia as well as the rest of the East Coast for many years,&#8221; \u00a0Ron TenEyck, vice president of operations for Suntex Marinas, said in a statements. &#8220;Suntex will continue the legacy and will also add many more amenities to the property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Photo credits: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/suntexmarinas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Suntex Marinas<\/em><\/a><em><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suntex Ventures LLC, a real estate investment and marina operations company, has recently purchased its second marina property in the Hampton Roads area.
