According to the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2014\/02\/25\/sneak-peak-doughboy-square-apartments.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pittsburgh Business Times<\/a><\/em>, the 45-unit residential complex is rising on a 19,000-square-foot parcel on Butler Street, in the city\u2019s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Upon completion, the 89,000-square-foot building will also feature a restaurant on the first-floor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The team behind the project is comprised of developer Ralph Falbo; architect Chip Desmone, principal of Desmone &amp; Associates Architects; Michael Polite, president and CEO of Falbo\u2019s firm, Ralph Falbo Inc.; and Bob Mistick, president of Mistick Construction, the general contractor on the development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Nine of the units within the new apartment complex will be affordable, the newspaper reports. Amenities will include walk-in closets, large balconies, an exercise room, a dog washing room, along with basement level parking. The development will also offer easy access to the city\u2019s downtown area and the Children\u2019s Hospital of Pittsburgh. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In other news, the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/blog\/the-next-move\/2014\/02\/shannon-station-adds-apartments-and-a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pittsburgh Business Times<\/a><\/em> reports that JRA Development is planning a summer groundbreaking for its new mixed-use residential and retail project at the Shannon Station Transit Oriented Development in Castle Shannon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span>Jim Aiello Sr., principal of JRA, told the newspaper that the firm would increase the number of new apartments from 128 to 152, while maintaining the established size of the building. Plans call for fewer two-bedrooms and more one-bedroom and studio apartments, and a commercial component of 15,000 square feet of retail space. The structure, which entails an investment of approximately $12 million, will rise on a deck above the park-and-ride at the station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>JRA has partnered with the Port Authority of Allegheny County to develop the project, which it pursued for about a decade.
