say will be the most significant in the history of the 126-year-old women&#8217;s college. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">According to <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biztimes.com\/article\/20131212\/ENEWSLETTERS07\/131219919\/-1\/Real_Estate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">BizTimes<\/a><\/em>, plans for the campus on Milwaukee&#8217;s south side, where Alverno has been located since 1952, call for a three-story, 50,000-square-foot facility; a 13,500-square-foot building addition and renovation of 125,000 square feet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">When complete in 2015, the project will add nine high-tech classrooms, a high-fidelity nursing simulation center, an expanded commons, an adjacent student service center and an art education suite. The conference center in the Sister Joel Read Center will be expanded and renamed the Bucyrus Conference Center in recognition of a gift from the Bucyrus Foundation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cWe\u2019ve grown into one of the largest women\u2019s colleges in the country and employers look to Alverno to develop the female leaders of tomorrow,\u201d Mary Beth Berkes, chair of the Alverno College Board of Trustees, said in statement. \u201cFor this reason and more, our facilities need to be as innovative as our curriculum.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Milwaukee-based Uihlein Wilson Architects is the project\u2019s designer, while J.H.
