\"Feature_Winners_480x270\"<\/a>With The Blackstone Group continuing to make headlines with its fast pace of acquisitions, perhaps it is no surprise that global head of real estate Jonathan Gray once again led the list of CPE<\/em> Executives of the Year. In fact, Gray received two top honors in the longstanding, peer-voted competition this year: Not only was he selected for the top award for the third year in a row, he was named Investor of the Year, as well.<\/p>\n

Also noteworthy was the fact that the same three executives took the top two categories, with the honorable mention accolades for both of those awards going to Nicholas Schorsch, chairman & CEO, American Realty Capital, and Barry Sternlicht, chairman & CEO, Starwood Capital Group.<\/p>\n

The only other executive to receive two first-place awards was Jeff Hines. Also a repeat winner, the president & CEO of Hines this year was named both Developer of the Year and Office Property Executive of the Year. Last year, Hines won honorable mention in the Executive of the Year and Sustainability Executive of the Year categories.<\/p>\n

Lauralee Martin also won two honorable mentions: In a vote that took place shortly before her move from CEO of the Americas for Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. to CEO of HCP, Martin won honors in both the Service Executive of the Year and Female Leader of the Year categories.<\/p>\n

Two executives moved up the ranks in their categories this year: Both Robert Merck and T. Wilson Eglin won honorable mentions last year and first place this year, Merck as Financier of the Year and Eglin as Net Lease Executive of the Year.<\/p>\n

\"Stephen<\/a>

Stephen Ross<\/p><\/div>\n

Recognized this year for Lifetime Achievement was Stephen Ross, chairman of The Related Cos. Noted for his numerous iconic master-planned developments as well as extensive efforts in affordable housing and philanthropy, Ross now has underway yet another groundbreaking project: the redevelopment of the railyards on Manhattan\u2019s West Side into the huge Hudson Yards\u00a0mixed-use complex. Meanwhile, Toby Bozzuto, president of The Bozzuto Group, took home honors as this year\u2019s Rising Leader.<\/p>\n

The awards, now in their 17th year, are unique as a peer-voted program among commercial real estate executives. First-place and honorable mention positions are determined by members of the distinguished CPE<\/em> 100 leadership advisory board, which vote on a ballot put together by the CPE<\/em> editorial team.<\/p>\n
