center in Kenosha. The Seattle-based company will also create more than 1,000 full-time jobs at the new facility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">According to <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biztimes.com\/article\/20131106\/ENEWSLETTERS06\/131109906\/-1\/Real_Estate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">BizTimes<\/a><\/em>, the project\u2019s developer, private equity firm KTR Capital Partners of New York City, recently acquired 158 acres for the facility along Interstate 94 on the city\u2019s far northwest side. Madison-based Next\/Partners Inc. sold the parcel for $17.5 million. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Construction is scheduled for completion by next fall. Next\/Partners president Phil Jennings told the newspaper that the site could also accommodate a 500,000-square-foot industrial building suitable for Amazon or another large tenant. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWe are excited to join the Kenosha community, creating more than 1,000 full-time jobs at our new fulfillment center,\u201d Mike Roth, Amazon\u2019s vice president of North America operations said in a statement. \u201cWe appreciate the state and local elected leaders who have supported Amazon coming to Wisconsin and we look forward to bringing jobs and investment to the state.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In October, the Kenosha Common Council agreed to contribute $17 million in tax incremental financing to support the project, which could entail an investment of more than $200 million.
