Through a spokesperson, however, Beacon declined to comment on the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>The sale closed on Friday, an HGI spokesperson told <i>CPE<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The building is directly across the street from the iconic Willis Tower (former Sears Tower) and is 83 percent occupied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased with the success of our investment plan for the property, and we believe our other assets will benefit from continued improvement in the downtown Chicago office market,\u201d Jordan Slone, HGI\u2019s chairman &amp; CEO, said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>HGI continues to own nearly 2 million square feet of Class A office property in Chicago. Its other downtown Chicago assets include One South Wacker, a 40-story, 1,195,000-square-foot office building, and 2 North LaSalle, a 715,000-square-foot office tower.<\/p>\n<p>Jones Lang LaSalle marketed 300 South Wacker Drive for HGI; International Director Bruce Miller led the JLL team.<\/p>\n<p>300 South Wacker Drive was built in 1971 and heavily renovated in the early 1990s.
