As reported by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.com\/yourtown\/news\/salem\/2013\/06\/mbta_salem_station_parking_lot_to_close_as_construction_team.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Boston.com<\/a><\/em>, the MBTA Salem station parking lot will be replaced with a $37 million facility, a five-level parking garage with up to 700 spaces and a pedestrian bridge from Washington Street.<a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/06\/MBTA-Salem-Intermodal-Station.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-141170\" title=\"MBTA Salem Intermodal Station\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/06\/MBTA-Salem-Intermodal-Station.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The station will be closed for commuters, residents and tourists at the end of the day on July 19, with construction slated to break ground the next day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a completion date tentatively set for October 2014, the new MBTA project in Salem was designed by Fennick McCredie Architecture of Boston and will be built by Consigli Construction Company, Inc.
