Having announced its interest in the 60-acre ADC site in Shapokee last year, Rosemount Inc., a division of Emerson Process Management, has now announced that it has selected the vacant ADC 2 building as the home of its new engineering and manufacturing plant.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to welcome Rosemount to Shakopee and thank them for investing in our community,\u201d Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke said. \u201cThis project is a wonderful example of the city\u2019s commitment to economic development and our ongoing support of our business community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The site has been vacant since 2000, when ADC stopped construction. Rosemount plans to invest around $71 million to complete and equip the unfinished building. The final project will result in an increased property tax base for city of Shakopee, along with numerous other benefits.<\/p>\n

Rosemount anticipates that over the next five years, the new facilitywill create 400 jobs, with average salaries in the mid-$60,000s. About 60 percent of those jobs will be engineering and administration; the balance will be production jobs. According to an economic impact study carried out by a regional development agency, GreaterMSP, between 15 and 30 percent of those employees are expected to choose to live in Shakopee.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank all the local, regional and state governments and entities who have played instrumental roles in supporting this project,\u201d Tabke said. \u201cThis is an economic development project that will benefit the Greater MSP region for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
