{"id":1004075284,"date":"2013-05-31T10:49:27","date_gmt":"2013-05-31T18:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=135242"},"modified":"2025-02-19T02:56:14","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T10:56:14","slug":"community-health-center-in-south-providence-enters-final-phase-of-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/community-health-center-in-south-providence-enters-final-phase-of-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Health Center in South Providence Enters Final Phase of Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/05\/Federated-Lithographers-mill-site.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-135246\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/05\/Federated-Lithographers-mill-site.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>By Adriana Pop, Associate Editor <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The $45 million development of the Federated Lithographers mill building in the South Providence neighborhood has entered its second and final phase of construction. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">According to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.golocalprov.com\/health\/providence-community-health-center-in-final-phase-of-45m-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">GoLocalProv<\/a><\/em>, the new space will enable Lifespan to relocate several of its programs, including Community Health Services, the Rhode Island Hospital School of Diagnostic Imaging, the Lifespan Youth Development Program, and Hasbro Children\u2019s Hospital\u2019s renowned Children\u2019s Neurodevelopment Center. The company intends to lease 27,000 square feet at the Federated Lithographers site. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Plans also call for the construction of a 5,000-square-foot Walgreens pharmacy store, as well as the expansion of the Providence Community Health Center\u2019s dental clinic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In March 2011, the Providence Community Health Centers Inc. broke ground on the complex, which is considered to be the largest private development project in South Providence. The Prairie Avenue Revitalization Initiative is supporting the project, which has received public and private funding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">According to Merrill Thomas, Providence Community Health Center CEO, the new facility will help spur the neighborhood\u2019s economic development. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cLifespan has long been a supporter of development in this neighborhood, and we are pleased to have the second phase of this important project get underway. We hope that by moving key services along with the employees who staff them into this community, Lifespan is helping to generate more economic activity and better health for residents,\u201d said Timothy J.
