{"id":1004072785,"date":"2013-05-13T06:31:41","date_gmt":"2013-05-13T14:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=124385"},"modified":"2022-03-03T14:24:40","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T22:24:40","slug":"greenway-plaza-becomes-largest-leed-certified-office-campus-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/greenway-plaza-becomes-largest-leed-certified-office-campus-in-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenway Plaza Becomes Largest LEED-Certified Office Campus in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>By Georgiana Mihaila, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Crescent Real Estate Holdings\u2019 10-building office <a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/05\/greenway-plaza-office-campus.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-124387\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/05\/greenway-plaza-office-campus.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>campus, Greenway Plaza, recently achieved LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming the largest Texas office campus to earn this designation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The master-planned business campus consists of an impressive 4.3 million square feet of Class A office space, and is home to The Shops at Greenway; located five miles southwest of downtown Houston, the 55-acre business park and mixed-use community also includes residential condominiums, a luxury hotel and an athletic\/social club.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The office park\u2019s commitment to the environment is easily noticeable due to its large lawns, trees and network of internal roadways connecting to underground parking, all helping establish the \u201cgreen culture\u201d of Greenway Plaza. The ease of access to major freeways and mass transportation adds commuting options for employees and visitors and another layer of environmental sensitivity, as do its biannual electronics collection events. Maintenance and operations are likewise consistent with the LEED program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cAlong with our energy-efficient and now completely LEED-certified 10 buildings, our office campus has plenty of green space, including the largest green roof in Texas covering underground parking. We also have the most convenient mass transportation options for customers,\u201d said Cruse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Crescent Real Estate Equities L.P.\u2014the entity that manages and, through its affiliates, owns the Greenway Plaza office campus\u2014was the one to seek LEED recognition for the property. Besides attesting to the property\u2019s environmental commitment, the certification provides a significant business advantage to Class A commercial buildings, according to Bob Carlen, vice president of property management for Crescent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cCrescent is committed to environmental sustainability and being a responsible environmental leader among existing office buildings,\u201d Carlen said. \u201cConducting ourselves as good environmental stewards is the right thing to do for the environment.
