{"id":1004068654,"date":"2013-03-13T15:32:26","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T23:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=109419"},"modified":"2022-12-05T23:52:42","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T07:52:42","slug":"genting-group-eyes-2b-resort-on-former-stardust-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/genting-group-eyes-2b-resort-on-former-stardust-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Genting Group Eyes $2B Resort on Former Stardust Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em>By Alex Girda, Associate Editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In a step that could help speed the comeback of large-scale development<a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/03\/genting-malaysia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-109433\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2013\/03\/genting-malaysia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a> on the Las Vegas Strip, Genting Group\u00a0wants to build\u00a0a $2 billion resort on the site once proposed for the abandoned Echelon project, the\u00a0<em>Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Malaysian hospitality company, which bought the parcel from Boyd Gaming Corp. for about $350 million, plans a 3,500-key hotel and a 175,000-square foot casino component for the project\u2019s first phase. The site is the former location of the Stardust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Taking a cue from Genting\u2019s properties in New York City and Singapore, the property would be named Resorts World Las Vegas.
