When it comes to\u00a0sheer volume and value, the Los Angeles celebrity home market is a standout. Estates regularly command higher prices than mid-size commercial properties.<\/p>\n
Recent case in point: Daytime TV host Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, recently sold their Beverly Hills compound to fellow headliner Ryan Seacrest for $37 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.<\/p>\n
Totaling 15,000 square feet, the compound consists of a 9,200-square-foot main house, a smaller second house, and a pair of guest houses. DeGeneres and de Rossi assembled the property through three\u00a0purchases\u00a0beginning in 2007.<\/p>\n
DeGeneres and de Rossi are relocating to an 8,500-square-foot Beverly Hills residence on a one-acre site. Built in 1958, the four-bedroom, six-bath home features glass walls, high ceilings, multiple fireplaces and a sunken living room. A swimming pool is directly linked to the family room.
