Trade and convention centers are a long-time fixture of the Las Vegas scene, but a local development team is proposing a facility that would\u00a0depart from the norm. AeroQuestUSA L.L.C.\u2019s proposed 4 million-square-foot International Trade and Conference Center in Henderson would focus full time on the aerospace and defense industries, VegasINC reports.<\/p>\n

The company is eyeing a 200-acre parcel west of Henderson Executive Airport for the complex. According to AeroQuestUSA\u2019s Web site, the facilities would be designed and built to accommodate large aircraft. Unusually wide loan-in space, drive-in exhibit halls and buildings designed to bear heavy loads would characterize the facility.<\/p>\n

A 2008 study led by AeroQuestUSA at the University of Nevada Las Vegas strongly suggested that an aerospace-related trade center near Las Vegas would attract exhibitors and attendees from around the country. AeroQuestUSA\u2019s plan to build the project on a site\u00a0Henderson Executive Airport also represents one of the first attempts to capitalize on the resurgence of business travel to the Las Vegas area.<\/p>\n

VegasINC noted that AeroQuestUSA wants to adopt the business model used to develop the\u00a0Downtown Las Vegas\u2019 World Market Center, which debuted in 2005. Designed to showcase the latest products and trends in home furnishings, the venue quickly won plaudits for providing industry professionals with an attractive, accessible venue in a market most closely identified with gaming and entertainment.<\/p>\n
