During an official event held this Tuesday Mayor Michael Nutter and city officials hinted at some major economic developments that would be announced over the next month. Though no further specific details were revealed, the Philadelphia Inquirer<\/em> reports that these developments would include a new hotel in Center City or somewhere close to this area, a new healthcare facility, the relocation of an undisclosed company to the city and the construction of a new office building,<\/p>\n Alan Greenberger, the city\u2019s deputy mayor for economic development, declared that plans for the Center City hotel will be revealed on September 15, adding that the Convention Center\u2019s expansion and the increased number of foreign visitors called for new hospitality developments in Philadelphia despite the current economic concerns. Plans for the new healthcare facility will be revealed on September 8, but it was suggested that the facility will be constructed at the city\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital, notes the Inquirer<\/em>.<\/p>\n In other commercial real estate news, the Philadelphia Business Journal<\/em> reveals that a new Hilton Garden Inn will be built in Oaks, one of the city\u2019s western suburbs. The hotel, which will be developed by Audubon Land Development, will include 135 guest rooms and will be located within walking distance from the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, one of the largest suburban exhibition centers on the East Coast. According to a statement released last week, the Hilton Garden Inn Oaks will provide the amenities to ensure guests sleep deep, stay fit, eat well, work smart and treat themselves while on the road.
