Following a new 10-year agreement, Aurora has managed to land a new $45 million distribution center for United Natural Foods, which will ensure the addition of 75 new jobs and the retaining of 475 existing jobs, The Denver Post<\/em> reports. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The 553,000-square-foot distribution center at Gateway Park is being developed for United Natural Foods by The Pauls Corp., the national distributor of natural, organic and specialty foods, having already signed a 15-year lease for the building, this according to Paul Powers, president of Pauls.<\/p>\n

Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan said it was more good news for the state and highlighted the importance of keeping 550 employees in Colorado, this after the company decided to consolidate its operations in Gateway Park after considering relocating to California or Texas.<\/p>\n

United Natural Foods, under the terms of the agreement with Aurora, will receive waivers and tax rebates up to $1.2 million. The agreement also stipulates the company will have to repay a portion of the incentive if the number of jobs is not maintained throughout the 10-year period covered by the agreement. Personal property taxes for the company were also agreed to be waived by Adams County.<\/p>\n

The Pauls Corp. has developed 2.9 million square feet of industrial space in the past 17 years at the 1,200-acre Gateway Park. By keeping United Natural Foods, Aurora is adding to the economic development coups from last year when the city landed deals with General Electric for a $300 million solar panel plant and with Gaylord Entertainment for an $824 million hotel and conference center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
