<\/a>continued the upgrade of this iconic New Orleans luxury hotel that was begun several years ago. We\u2019re pleased to be able to count this and the other hotels of the New Orleans Hotel Collection among the finest offerings in the city,\u201d said Joe Jaeger, managing partner of the ownership group, in a press release.<\/p>\nGuestroom upgrades include a new plush bedding package from SEALY\u00ae, new carpeting, wall colors and coverings, interior plantation shutters and furnishings, refurbished bathrooms, 42\u201d flat screen televisions and ergonomic Herman Miller\u00ae designed desk chairs. Other enhancements include repainting of all exterior balconies and window frames, and the addition of an enlarged, glass-fronted fitness center on the hotel\u2019s second floor, according to wwltv.com<\/em>.<\/p>\nThe Bourbon New Orleans Hotel is part of the prestigious New Orleans Hotel Collection and is operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the leading U.S.-based global hotel management company. The locally owned hotel is ideally located in the heart of the world-renowned French Quarter, in close proximity to upscale shopping destinations and entertainment venues.<\/p>\n
In other news, the New Orleans City Business<\/em> reports that construction has begun on the fourth floor of the Bioinnovation Center on Canal Street. The state-funded, $47 million center opened late last year, and space appears to filling up quickly, according to company statements, having nearly all of the facility\u2019s 40 offices occupied at this time.<\/p>\nThe BioInnovation Center currently totals 66,000 square feet of wet-lab, office and conference space, featuring high-class amenities such as a flexible 100-person conferencing center with high-tech audiovisual equipment, a 2,000-square-foot retail\/food service area open to Canal Street and an interior atrium with public break areas at each level, all to cater to a wide scope of companies.<\/p>\n
The new construction–which will add 14 offices, 20 cubicles, five private wet-labs and two community wet-labs to the current facility–is slated to be complete by August 2012.<\/p>\n
