(CMTS), two leaders of project and construction management, was awarded by the City of Philadelphia the $6.4 billion expansion project at the Philadelphia International Airport.<a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/06\/Philadelphia_Airport-prv.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-51372\" title=\"Philadelphia_Airport-prv\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/06\/Philadelphia_Airport-prv.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Called Global Program Partners, the joint venture will be in charge of the largest and most comprehensive new aviation program in the United States and it will create a world-class airport for Philadelphia\u2019s metro area. According to Jacque Rast, CH2M HILL\u2019s international division president, the airport\u2019s Capacity Enhancement Program (CEP) will generate thousands of jobs for Philadelphia\u2019s residents over the next 12 to 15 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Philadelphia International Airport expansion includes several major infrastructure improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a new runway and the extension of two existing ones<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Reconfiguration and expansion of the existing terminal complex<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Construction of a new centralized ground transportation center with car rental and associated parking facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Building an automated \u201cpeople mover\u201d system between airport terminals and parking areas<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: justify\">Construction of new corporate hangars, relocation and expansion of the existing fuel farm, relocation of the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s Air Traffic Control Tower and construction of a new centralized airport maintenance facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the <em>Philadelphia Inquirer<\/em>, the city of Philadelphia\u2019s Division of Aviation agreed to pay the joint venture $25 million over CEP\u2019s initial 4-year phase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Illustration courtesy of CH2M HILL website<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A joint venture led by Denver, Colorado-based CH2M HILL, an international program and construction management firm, and including Delon Hampton &amp; Associates (DHA) and CMTS, Inc.
