Minneapolis could see its first new high-rise multifamily rental property nearly 30 years with the development of a $100 million downtown apartment tower planned by Opus Development Corp.<\/p>\n

The Minnetonka-based developer recently unveiled plans to build a 33-story upscale residential building dubbed Nicollet Residences next to a light-rail station. Pending city approval, construction would start next spring and be complete by fall 2013.<\/p>\n

The plan calls for 330 luxury apartments featuring 9- to 10-foot ceilings with floor-to-ceiling glass and designed for LEED certification, according to the <\/em>StarTribune<\/em>.\u00a0 Nicollet Residences will offer such amenities as a door attendant, concierge service, pool and spa, fitness center, yoga studio, private theater, outdoor fire pit and a dog play area.<\/p>\n

The apartment project is the latest in a series of ideas for the site that Opus has presented over the years. Earlier proposals have included condominiums, a high-end hotel and an office tower, according to the Minneapolis\/St. Paul Business Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n
