Dinerstein Cos. plans to revive the ambitious High Street residential development originally planned by Fort Worth-based Trademark and\u00a0halted in 2008. The developer has renamed the project Millennium High Street and has scaled it down considerably from the initial plan, which\u00a0consisted of 100,000 square feet of retail space, 80,000 square feet of office space and 233 residential units. Dinerstein has 340 luxury apartments and 27,000 square feet of retail space in mind for the 6.3-acre site at 4410 Westheimer.<\/p>\n
The Millennium units will\u00a0range in size from 767 to 1,347 square feet; adjacent to the Galleria and Highland Village, the new development will provide ease of access to the neighboring iconic retail and restaurant offerings, as well as to public transit options and business districts. \u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the Houston Chronicle<\/em>, Dinerstein Cos. partnered with Coventry Real Estate Advisors on the project and will be seeking LEED certification.<\/p>\n This is not the sole project Dinerstein plans for the Galleria area, as the company is currently working on its third Millennium-branded apartment project in the Houston area at 2525 McCue; the project, first announced in April, will rise on the north side of the Galleria, on the spot of a former 1960s-era apartment complex demolished a few years back. The five-story Millennium Uptown development will deliver 237 luxury units, ranging in size from 650 to 1,650 square feet, with rental rates spanning from $1,000 to $2,500. On top of standard upscale amenities, the apartments will feature 11- to 12-foot ceilings, with 20 units encompassing two stories.
