{"id":1004052546,"date":"2012-01-19T11:52:05","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T19:52:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=31971"},"modified":"2022-12-08T20:20:02","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T04:20:02","slug":"talisman-direct-energy-place-bets-on-houston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/talisman-direct-energy-place-bets-on-houston\/","title":{"rendered":"Talisman, Direct Energy Place Bets on Houston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">By Georgiana Mihaila, Associate Editor<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With nearly half of its economic activity driven by the energy industry, Houston is living up to its name of \u201cEnergy Capital of the World\u201d by landing two more companies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Talisman Energy USA plans on moving the main office for its Eagle Ford shale development program to The Woodlands; the company has recently signed a lease for 218,000 square feet in Research Forest Lakeside\u2014the 77-acre development that is to consist, upon completion, of 10 office buildings and retail space, totaling nearly 1.8 million square feet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the <em>Houston Chronicle<\/em>, the Talisman lease is split between two buildings,<a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/01\/Research-Forest-Lakeside1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-31972\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/01\/Research-Forest-Lakeside1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a> one of them\u2014a 68,000-square-foot property\u2014already completed and a new 300,000-square-foot, 12-story tower that is set to break ground this year. Designed by ZC+O (Ziegler Cooper Architects and Odell Associates), both buildings aim at attaining certain levels of LEED certification. The business park also serves as home to Aon Hewitt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Direct Energy has also officially announced its plan of moving the company\u2019s corporate head office to Houston as part of a growth strategy within the U.S. energy market.
