Seattle has been seeing a positive turn in its amount of residential development activity during the past few weeks, with a series of projects breaking ground in previously \u201cforgotten\u201d locations around the city. This week, reports include the start of one of Holland Partners\u2019 new housing projects.<\/p>\n

The developer plans to begin work on the new\u00a0apartment complex on the 1.2-acre lot on Dexter Avenue North, which it purchased for $16.7 million. Demolition of the existing building, the former home of Korry Electric, will start as soon as possible, a Seattle Times <\/em>report says. The complex is set for completion in the fall of 2012. Holland Partners has been an active developer in the residential sector, with plans to complete 1,500 apartments in the next 18 months, all of them in the Puget Sound area.<\/p>\n

Wood Partners has also been active, according to a Seattle Post-Intelligencer <\/em>story. The developer is set for demolition in preparation for construction of its first Seattle project, a 91-unit, four-story apartment building at 8606 35th<\/sup> Ave., with plans\u00a0for completion in the summer of 2012.<\/p>\n

Apartments will range from studio-size to full three-bedroom units and will feature a roof deck, an underground garage and a fitness center. It will respect Built Green standards and will feature Energy STAR appliances in every unit. \u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
