{"id":1004052258,"date":"2012-03-11T20:55:49","date_gmt":"2012-03-12T04:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=38808"},"modified":"2022-12-09T00:09:01","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T08:09:01","slug":"seldin-buys-540-apartments-in-two-complexes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/seldin-buys-540-apartments-in-two-complexes\/","title":{"rendered":"Seldin Buys 540 Apartments in Two Complexes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/03\/songbird-san-antonio.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-38809\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/03\/songbird-san-antonio.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>By Camelia Bulea, Associate Editor<\/p>\n<p>The last day of February marked the purchase of two San Antonio apartment complexes &#8212; the Songbird and Villas of Oak Creste.<\/p>\n<p>The buyers &#8212; Seldin Co. and investment partners in Chicago \u2013 were attracted by the Class B properties due to the proximity of the two complexes to the South Texas Medical Center and insurer USAA, two of the city\u2019s largest employers, as reported by the <em>San Antonio Business Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vilas of Oak Creste is a 280-unit, 13-building complex, built in 1980;<\/li>\n<li>Songbird consists of 262 units across 33 buildings and was built in 1982.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both apartment complexes are located in Northwest San Antonio. The properties exemplify the company\u2019s strategy of acquiring high-quality multi-family assets in excellent locations within the central United States, Bob Dean, executive vice president of Seldin Co., told the <em>San Antonio Business Journal<\/em>. San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing U.S.\u00a0markets and has exhibited a consistent track record for multifamily investors.<\/p>\n<p>World Group Commercial Real Estate advised Seldin and its partners in this transaction. Seldin manages more than 10,000 apartment units. The company provides property management, brokerage and development services.<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio\u2019s residential market is recording an important shift, from homeownership to renting.
