{"id":1004051824,"date":"2012-09-03T06:04:58","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T14:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/?p=66110"},"modified":"2020-04-07T12:26:34","modified_gmt":"2020-04-07T20:26:34","slug":"maa-completes-acquisition-of-upscale-394-unit-multifamily-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/maa-completes-acquisition-of-upscale-394-unit-multifamily-community\/","title":{"rendered":"MAA Completes Acquisition of Upscale 394-Unit Multifamily Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>By Georgiana Mihaila, Associate Editor<a href=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/08\/retreat-at-lake-nona.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-66113\" src=\"https:\/\/synd.yardi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2012\/08\/retreat-at-lake-nona.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Apartment-only real estate investment trust MAA has recently expanded its Central Florida portfolio with the addition of the 394-unit multifamily apartment community Retreat at Lake Nona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Commenting on the announcement, Al Campbell, EVP and CFO of MAA said, &#8220;We are pleased to capture this opportunity to expand our operations and efficiencies in central Florida and expect Retreat at Lake Nona will generate an attractive investment return for shareholders.&#8221; No financial details of the purchase have been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Retreat at Lake Nona is an upscale 394-unit multifamily apartment community that provides residents with a wide array of amenities including a resort-style pool, lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, outdoor grills, and fitness and business centers. The apartment homes average 1,069 square feet and offer nine foot ceilings, garden tubs and large walk-in closets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The community is located only two miles from the emerging Medical City development\u2014a new 600-acre science and technology park that serves as home to Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, the University of Central Florida\u2019s College of Medicine, and the MD Anderson Cancer Research Institute.
