On Wednesday, June 22, the Metrolex’s Southlake submarket will become home to a new medical complex. The $21 million Southlake Specialty Care Center is designed to offer outpatient pediatric specialties, lab services and physical rehabilitation.<\/p>\n
The 34,000-square-foot facility stands on 10 acres along State Hwy. 114, between North Carroll Avenue and North White Chapel Boulevard and has been developed as a green-friendly facility. Part of the Children\u2019s Medical Center, one of the largest pediatric health care providers in the country, the complex will include pediatric specialty services such as cardiology, endocrinology, epilepsy treatment, gastroenterology, general surgery, craniofacial surgery and\u00a0speech therapy.<\/p>\n
Another major mixed-use medical campus is getting close to fruition on Interstate 635, between Peachtree and Gross Roads in\u00a0Mesquite. The stalled 60-acre Peachtree Towne Center Project is to be developed by HQZ Partners L.P. in joint venture with LIG Assets Inc., which are currently working with the city of Mesquite on an economic development agreement, including property and sales tax rebates, among other incentives. The city\u2019s main interest in the project lies in the promised development of the land into parks and trails that are designed for city use.<\/p>\n
This is not the first time the Peachtree Towne Center project has been the topic of debate, as in 2008 the project was not only set to start but held a groundbreaking for its infrastructure, including a pedestrian and vehicular bridge estimated at a cost of $2 million. The funding currently available is sufficient for the first phase of the four-phase project. According to the latest press release, the total investment necessary for the new Mesquite mixed-use medical center revolves around $250 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
