Developer Billingsley Co. is seeking approval for a 670-unit residential project as part of its planned Cypress Waters mixed-use community. According to The Dallas Morning News<\/em>, the Dallas-based company owns almost 1,000 acres surrounding North Lake and has been planning the major development for several years.<\/p>\n Pending approval from the city of Dallas, the current residential project will consist of 519 apartment flats and 151 townhouses at the intersection of Belt Line Road and Hackberry Road; a clubhouse, fitness center and pools have also been included.<\/p>\n Following this first phase, Billingsley envisions a 1,000-acre master-planned community with multiple uses: office, industrial, residential and retail. Designed to serve the areas of Dallas, Irving, Coppell, Valley Ranch and Las Colinas, Cypress Waters is to include as many as 10,000 residential units and 4.5 million square feet of office space upon completion. Retail space may also total as much as 100,000 square feet, with the buildings, residences, shops and services strategically designed to be close together, creating a pedestrian-friendly community.<\/p>\n Located within close proximity to both downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, the Cypress Waters location offers immediate access to I-35 and Belt Line Road; upon completion, the community is expected to draw a daytime population of more than 25,000 employees within a one-mile radius.<\/p>\n Less than three weeks ago, Billingsley received city approval for another major project, The Four Corners of 190 (George Bush) & Dallas North Tollway, consisting of four 16-story office buildings. Spreading over 32 acres, the four buildings are designed for 10 levels of office space above six levels of parking; the four-corner master-planned development aims at creating an architectural gateway into North Dallas and Plano, and is designed to comply with LEED standards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Georgiana Mihaila, Associate Editor
