Green Street Properties kicked off its planned $180 million redevelopment of the former Sears, Roebuck & Co. store and warehouse known as City Hall East on Oct. 1 with a fundraiser that brought in $80,000 for the Atlanta Beltline Partnership and Georgia Organics. The event–which\u00a0served as a\u00a010th anniversary party for Green S\"Citytreet–offered\u00a0a sneak preview of the project to more than 2,000 attendees, who also enjoyed treats specially created by\u00a0top Atlanta chefs.<\/p>\n

Located at the crossroads of the historic Old Fourth Ward and the Atlanta Beltline, the City Hall East property is slated for redevelopment as a\u00a02.1-million-square-foot live-work-play destination dubbed Ponce City Market. With 500,000 square feet of office space, several hundred apartments and condominiums, and an extensive retail component, the project is being positioned by its developers as a showcase\u00a0of urban revitalization. Green Street closed on its $27 million acquisition of the property in July.<\/p>\n
