Jonathan Gray<\/p><\/div>\n

Jonathan Gray\u2019s continued acquisition pace once again led the CPE 100 to vote him CPE\u2019s Executive of the Year in 2012. Reflecting another year of multibillion-dollar purchases that have taken the company to a powerful $50 billion in managed assets, he took home the top prize in the 16-year-old peer-voted Executive of the Year awards program for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n

A number of other repeat winners also graced the list, although some new names won commendations, as well. Michael Fascitelli, David Simon, Christopher Nassetta, Hamid Moghadam and Richard Ader once again took first place in the property categories, with Simon also achieving first place as Investor of the Year. Last year\u2019s honorable mention winners Peter Roberts and Shekar Narasimhan won first-place honors this year. 2011 first-place winners Debra Cafaro, Jeffrey Hines and Michael Berman all placed again this year (with Cafaro and Hines the only ones to achieve two honorable mention awards this year), while last year\u2019s Lifetime Achiever, Charles Ratner, was awarded honorable mention in the Developer of the Year category.<\/p>\n

Besides Simon, only one other first-place winner was named for a second award: Newcomer to the list Maggie Coleman, a Star to Watch earlier this year (see the March 2012 issue of CPE) and the new Rising Leader, also won honorable mention as Female Leader of the Year.<\/p>\n

Gerald Hines<\/p><\/div>\n

This year, Gerald Hines was recognized as the Lifetime Achiever, reflecting his long history as a real estate development innovator. The board is asked to select only a first-place winner for this career-achievement honor.<\/p>\n

CPE<\/em>\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>peer-voted awards competition continues a tradition begun by predecessor\u00a0Commercial Property News<\/em>. Determined by a ballot vote among the CPE<\/em> 100, an elite group of industry\u00a0presidents and CEOs, the awards recognize those who have achieved success and made exemplary decisions to advance their companies and the industry in the preceding year. Most of the 17 awards categories this year featured a first-place winner and two honorable mentions.<\/p>\n
