JLL said Thursday that Richard Baxter, Jon Caplan, Ron Cohen and Scott Latham have defected from Cushman &amp; Wakefield Inc.<\/p>\n<p>With a century of combined real estate capital markets experience as well as an investment sales transaction track record exceeding $20 billion in the past decade, the move brings even more heavy hitters to JLL\u2019s capital markets platform. In March, JLL hired away a trio of veterans \u2013 Thomas Fish, Michael Melody, and Thomas Melody &#8212; from CB Richard Ellis in a move that surprised the industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttracting these key leaders to our firm will enable the aggressive growth of our New York City Capital Markets business,\u201d JLL Americas Capital Markets business President Jay Koster said when announcing the news. \u201cIt also sends another significant message to the market that Jones Lang LaSalle is committed to building a pre-eminent Americas Capital Markets business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baxter, Caplan, Cohen and Latham have specialized in the sale, acquisition and capitalization of New York City real estate, working with trophy office, urban retail and multifamily properties, and development opportunities. They were involved with major transactions including The Plaza Hotel, 666 Fifth Avenue and the Barneys New York flagship on Madison Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>JLL\u2019s capital markets effort includes investment sales, debt placement, recapitalization, note sales, and placement of rescue capital and joint venture equity capital.
