These will be in Tracy, Calif., approximately 54 miles east of Oakland, Calif. The first, which will be approximately 827,000 square feet, will be used by Crate and Barrel to store its furniture products. The second, with more than 398,000 square feet, will be used as a distribution center for its housewares products. The pair of buildings are being developed both to accommodate growth and to improve efficiencies. The retailer is consolidating three Northern California distribution facilities that it has outgrown.  According to Pat Cavanagh, senior vice president and Pacific regional director for ProLogis, these deals reflect the glowing popularity of the area. &#8220;This region is emerging as an ideal distribution location for local, regional and national supply chain networks,&#8221; he said in a statement.  The two new facilities will be built to conform to LEED standards, according to Prologis.  Both will incorporate a number of sustainable design and construction techniques including extensive use of recycled and locally sourced construction materials and the installation of an energy-efficient fluorescent lighting system.  Crate and Barrel&#8217;s two new facilities will be the first two developments at ProLogis Park Tracy II, a 160-acre site in the Tracy submarket of the Central Valley in Calif.
