Scheduled to open in 2010, W Huntington Beach and The Residences at W Huntington Beach will be owned by an affiliate of Makar Properties L.L.C.. \u00a0The luxury hotel development will feature approximately 250 guest rooms and 92 private residences, a high-end restaurant, bar, and destination spa. \u00a0W Huntington Beach will anchor Makar\u2019s Pacific City, a retail village set on 30 acres of oceanfront property. Slated to open in late 2009, Pacific City will have 161,000 square feet of retail stores and 30,000 square feet of office space. W Huntington Beach is the first W Hotel announced in 2008. It follows the announcement of a dozen W Hotels during 2007. \u00a0On Dec. 12 of last year, Starwood announced plans for locations in Amman, Jordan and Minneapolis. In November, a W Washington, D.C., location was announced.
