New York-based RKF recently announced it has been selected as the exclusive leasing agent for 10 East Ohio, an architecturally and culturally significant property in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The multi-level retail property is situated on the north block between State St. and Wabash Ave., a premier dining and retail destination in the neighborhood.

According to a news release, the RKF leasing team is comprised of Anthony Campagni, Rachel Rosenberg and Elan Rasansky, who are managing the lease on behalf of Tree Studios, LLC 10 East Ohio is a key component of the Tree Studios Development, and part of Three Building and Annexes originally established in 1894 as an art colony.

Albert Friedman of Chicago-based Friedman Properties, Ltd. purchased the property in 2001, and led a full-scale restoration project to recreate its turn-of-the-century elegance. The Queen-Anne style building is said to be perfectly suited for contemporary fashion brands, home furnishings retailers and other lifestyle concepts looking for a new location in an up-scale, highly-sought after neighborhood.

“This is an extremely rare opportunity for a retailer to brand a standalone building in one of Chicago’s most desirable neighborhoods,” says Anthony Campagni. “This trade area has been experiencing explosive growth over the last decade, due to the increase in new residential towers and tourist traffic.”

The elegant feel of the property is enhanced by the adjacent enclosed courtyard behind the shops on State St., which offers an urban oasis in the middle of the busy city. The building also provides plenty of natural light through its oversized windows and skylights and high ceilings.

10 East Ohio is conveniently located near the world-famous Michigan Ave., a highly prestigious retail corridor. Some of the property’s neighbors include Bloomingdale’s Home Store, Conrad Chicago Hotel, Joe’s Seafood, Nordstrom, Eataly, and The Shops at North Bridge. The landmark building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December 1974.
