Virgin Hotels Breaks Ground on New Orleans Property

Located in the city’s Warehouse District, the seventh addition to the brand will include more than 200 guestrooms and is slated for completion in 2021.

Virgin Hotels—Virgin Group’s lifestyle hotel brand—in partnership with The Buccini/Pollin Group has broken ground on Virgin Hotels New Orleans. This marks the seventh property for the owner, following the soon-to-be-open Virgin Hotels Dallas, the still-under-construction hotels in Nashville, Tenn., New York, Las Vegas and Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as the currently opened locations, Virgin Hotels San Francisco Rooftop and Virgin Hotels Chicago. This project will consist of more than 200 guestrooms and is slated for completion in 2021.

Located at 550 Baronne St. in New Orleans’ Warehouse District, the hotel will be adjacent to the city’s Central Business District. The asset will be easily accessible through Interstate 10, while Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is a little more than 15 miles away. Additionally, the surrounding area includes a wide selection of dining, entertainment and retail venues.  

Amenities at the property will include several dining and drinking options, a rooftop pool and lounge, a gym, as well as dedicated meeting and event spaces. Mathes Brierre Architects, CallisonRTKL Architects, and Broadmoor Construction will be responsible for the completion of the project, Logan Killen Interiors have been selected as the interior design company, while Virgin Hotels will manage the asset once completed.
