Olshan Properties Welcomes Head of Retail

In his new role, Kenneth Marshall will focus on growing and managing the firm’s 10 million-square-foot retail portfolio.

Based in the firm’s Columbus office, Marshall will report directly to CEO Andrea Olshan, working as a member of her executive team with responsibility for all retail assets. In this newly created role, Marshall will focus on growing the firm’s highly diversified, 10 million-square-foot retail portfolio through strategic acquisitions, as well as overseeing management of the portfolio’s day-to-day operations.

Marshall’s career in retail real estate spans almost a quarter of a century. He joins Olshan Properties most recently from retail REIT Washington Prime Group (formerly WP Glimcher), where he served as vice president of development overseeing retail and office development projects for the company, including a vertically integrated mixed-use lifestyle center and a $25 million strategic mall renovation. Prior to that, Marshall was executive vice president of Colonial Properties Trust’s 11 million-square-foot commercial division, where he led asset management, leasing, operations, development and capital improvement spending.

Marshall holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with supplemental study in real estate. He is currently a registered architect in the state of Illinois and a regular contributor to International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) publications. Marshall has also been a frequent speaker at ICSC sessions and panels, and has been a featured panelist at the Urban Land Institute’s Retailing Program.
