Kimpton to Open First Property in San Jose

The new development will include a 173-key hotel, 300 residential units, retail, restaurants, 250,000 square feet of office space, and the expansion of the Tech Museum of Innovation.

San Jose, Calif.—Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced its first property in San Jose, Calif., and its expansion of the Tech Museum of Innovation at Museum Place, a mixed-use asset by Insight Realty Co. The development will include a 173-key hotel, 300 residential units, retail and restaurants.

The project, owned and developed by Insight Realty Co. and its partner China New Era Group Corp., will be situated in the heart of downtown San Jose, one block from the Convention Center and in close proximity to the SAP Center and major companies such as Adobe, Cisco Systems, IBM and PayPal.

The development will also include 250,000 square feet of Class A office space and will expand the Tech Museum of Innovation by 54,000 square feet. The new Kimpton hotel, designed by international design firm Steinberg, will include a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a sixth-floor bar, a fast-casual café and approximately 8,000 square feet of meeting space.

We’re delighted to partner with Insight Realty on this one-of-a-kind urban retreat.”

This project will join Kimpton’s nine other properties in California located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Diego.
