JLL to Continue Managing 866 UN Plaza
Located directly across from the United Nations headquarters, the office building’s tenant list includes missions, consulates and non-government organizations. The Carlyle Group purchased the office tower in April for $217.5 million.

The Carlyle Group has retained JLL as the exclusive property manager for 866 United Nations Plaza, a 471,000-square-foot office building in Manhattan. The company has provided property management services at the office building since 2013. General Manager Margarita Palos and Assistant General Manager Joseph Walpole of JLL are handling the management assignment. Additionally, JLL’s managing directors & heads of property management Linda Aronson and Matt Duthie will provide oversight and platform support.
“We appreciate being chosen by The Carlyle Group to continue managing 866 United Nations Plaza. We were heavily involved in the previous owner’s conversion of the building into office condominiums, which are being marketed for sale. Located directly across from the United Nations, most of the existing tenants and previous condominium buyers are missions, consulates and non-government organizations,” Palos said in a prepared statement.
Property Features
Located at 866 United Nations Plaza, the 38-story asset built in 1967 offers controlled access and 175 parking stalls. The property was designed by Harrison, Abramovitz & Harris, which also designed the master plan for the United Nations complex. Rudder Property Group is exclusively marketing the property on behalf of The Carlyle Group.
According to Yardi Matrix, the company purchased the office tower in April for $217.5 million from seller Meadow Partners. The acquisition was subject to a $168 million loan originated by Deutsche Bank.
