EVEN Hotel Miami Airport

Epelboim Development Group, in conjunction with InterContinental Hotels Group, has opened its newest project, the EVEN Hotel Miami Airport.

Coral Gables–based Trust Hospitality manages the hotel, located at 3499 N.W. 25th St. The EVEN Hotel flag is described as a “premier lifestyle hotel brand,” with a tagline of “Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active and Accomplish More.” The brand’s signature features include in-room exercise equipment, from resistance bands and exercise balls to yoga mats and blocks, on-demand fitness videos, beds with built-in “mood lighting” and ergonomic workstations.

The 190–key Miami Airport property’s amenities include the Cork & Kale Market and Bar, more than 4,000 square feet of conference space, a heated outdoor pool, a full-service industrial kitchen, and an extensive, 24-hour athletic studio with TRX equipment, free weights, customized Woodway treadmills and spin bikes. Every floor has filtered-water hydration stations, and the hotel offers same-day laundry service specifically for guests’ workout clothing.

The hotel’s location is near the recently announced Miami Freedom Park, a 72-acre development that will replace the city-owned Melreese Country Club with office and retail space, a 58-acre park, and a new 25,000-seat stadium for David Beckham’s Major League Soccer team, Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.

The hotel “will be strategic in our efforts to engage Latin American travel,” CEO Noel Epelboim said in a prepared statement. “With the recent approval of the stadium, we also see EVEN as the prime destination for athletes and fans visiting South Florida to play in or watch a game.”

Epelboim did not reply to Commercial Property Executive’s request for additional information.

A rapid pace of construction

Later this year, Epelboim will open a new EVEN property in Alpharetta, Ga., followed in 2020 by another in Atlanta.

Miami’s hotel construction pipeline remains strong and steady, according to a second-quarter report from Colliers International, with nearly 80 properties under way, virtually unchanged from six months earlier. Despite this, occupancy, ADR and RevPAR in the metro market continued to rise, by 3.0 percent, 9.2 percent and 12.6 percent, respectively.
