2001
John Cushman, Chairman, Cushman & Wakefield
Cushman & Wakefield has gone through many significant changes and monumental moments on its way to reaching 100 years old in 2017. One of those events in its storied history was the return of twin brothers John Cushman and Louis Cushman to the firm their grandfather J. Clydesdale Cushman and great-uncle Bernard Wakefield had founded in 1917. The twins had worked at Cushman & Wakefield before founding their own firm in 1978, Cushman Realty Corp., growing CRC from two offices to 11. In 2001, CRC merged with Cushman & Wakefield, reuniting the brothers with their family’s company. Today, John Cushman serves as chairman while Louis Cushman serves as vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, one of the largest global commercial real estate services firms.Â
