Drew Schaul

CBRE has appointed retail expert Drew Schaul as senior vice president of Advisory and Transaction Services, where he will report to Arden Karson, senior managing director of CBRE South Florida. Based in Miami, Schaul will specialize in both landlord and tenant representation, bringing more than 15 years of experience to the position.

“Drew’s established track record, multimarket expertise and national industry relationships add extraordinary value to our ability to serve our clients in South Florida,” said Karson, in a prepared statement. “His talent and vast market knowledge are a perfect complement to our team as it reinforces our best-in-class market positioning.”

Vast Retail Experience

Prior to rejoining CBRE, Schaul established and led Robert Futterman & Associates Miami operations for seven years, where he represented companies such as Brooks Brothers, Steve Madden, Allen Edmonds, ECI, H&M, Xfinity and Luxottica. Recent transactions included securing the location for Braves Live! at The Battery at SunTrust Park in Atlanta and Steve Madden’s Manhattan and Brooklyn locations.

Schaul has experience in investment sales, where he guided a team that completed more than $430 million in transactions between 2015 and 2016, within the retail submarkets of Wynwood and the Design District. He was also an instrumental member in the two largest retail investment transactions at the time in South Beach history—the $139 million sale of TriStar Capital’s 53,000-square-foot retail portfolio to Acadia Realty Trust and the $132 million sale of 1100 Lincoln Road to Vornado Realty Trust.

He also has landlord agency experience, having secured assignments for Esplanade at Aventura and The Collection at Boca Town Center, as well as the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at its Hollywood and Tampa locations. Schaul led the leasing team advising Rockpoint on the repositioning and releasing of Mary Brickell Village in Miami, which offers 200,000 square feet of retail.

Schaul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and he is also actively involved with Kristi House Charities.
