The owner and publisher of Philly.com, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News has leased 125,000 square feet of office space at 801 Market Street, in a vibrant spot in Center City Philadelphia that provides workers, shoppers and residents direct access to the city’s suburbs and southern New Jersey. Philadelphia Media Network will move into the new headquarters this summer.

According to a press statement, the lease was secured by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), which owns the iconic building that was once known as the Strawbridge & Clothiers department store. Back in 2009 PREIT redeveloped the 927,931-square-foot property into a LEED Gold-certified, class A office and retail building whose anchor tenant is The Gallery at Market East, also owned by PREIT.

Philadelphia Media Network’s 600 employees will occupy the third floor of 801 Market Street, joining 700 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania workers and 1200 employees utilizing office space on seven upper floors.

Citybizlist reports that Chicago-based Green Courte Partners, LLC, is the new owner of the Arts Parking Garage in downtown Philadelphia’s Arts District. Strategically located at the crossing of 15th and Spruce Streets, the Garage offers immediate access to nearby residential buildings, offices, restaurants, shops and cultural destinations. With 668 self-parking spaces, the 10-level garage is currently occupied by Starbucks, Planet Hollywood-owned restaurant Buca di Beppo, and Fox and Hound, a sports & entertainment restaurant.
