Mitchell Schear Joins Camber Creek as New Executive Partner

The former president of Vornado/Charles E. Smith and The Kaempfer Co. brings more than 35 years of experience to the proptech venture capital firm.

Proptech venture capital firm Camber Creek has added Mitchell Schear as an executive partner to the company’s leadership team. The former president of Vornado/Charles E. Smith will join General Partners Casey Berman, Jake Fingert and Jeffrey Berman.

Schear brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in commercial real estate to his new position. He spent 15 years at Vornado/Charles E. Smith, the Washington, D.C., division of Vornado Realty Trust, where his duties included directing the strategy, performance and growth of the company. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with The Kaempfer Co. and oversaw the firm’s development, leasing and management activities. He was involved in the development of several key office and residential projects in Washington, D.C., including The Warner, 1999 K St. and 2099 Pennsylvania Ave.  

Schear is involved in several organizations and charities, including Higher Achievement, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk middle-school communities excel and succeed. Camber Creek’s new executive partner is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Business.
