KB Home is consolidating its foothold in the Durham market with the opening of their project located at 103 Daneborg Road & RDU International Airport.

The Orchard Ridge project entails a community of customizable single-family homes that range from 1,814 square feet to 3,332 square feet.

Rick Carruthers, president of KB Home’s North Carolina division, commented that there is a high demand in the area for customizable residential units. In response to this demand, KB Home is promoting their trademark Built to Order homes in the region.

According to the company’s official press release, the selected site for the project grants easy access to the Research Triangle Park, UNC and Duke. In addition, homebuyers will be able to choose between nine floor plans with up to six bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.

With the starting price per home at around $170,000, the prospective buyers will be able to make extensive structural changes to the design. They can select various elevation styles, convert multipurpose spaces to additional bedrooms or expand the patio. The company will also showcase various amenities at a design center, allowing buyers to opt for their preferred finishing touches.

In other news, Beacon Communities LLC and Lampe Management recently sold the Lynwood Park in Raleigh for $7.5 million. The 152-unit apartment community was purchased by Oak Residential, which plans to renovate the complex and reposition it on the market.

According to the CityBizList, Lynnwood Park has a 94.5 percent occupancy rate and features amenities such as easy pedestrian and biking access to the Shelley Lake Trail.
