HFF Appoints New Senior Managing Director

Merchant will focus on investment sales and structured transactions.

New York—HFF hired Roland Merchant Jr. as a senior managing director for its New York office.

Merchant will bring two decades of experience in sales, finance and real estate investment to HFF and will focus on investment sales and structured transactions. Before joining the firm, Merchant worked with Eastdil Secured, in the Capital Markets Group at Cushman & Wakefield and the Leveraged Finance Group at Merrill Lynch.

Merchant holds a M.B.A degree from Columbia Business School and a B.A degree from Dillard University. He is a licensed securities representative, a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of Urban Land Institute, the National Multifamily Housing Council, the Real Estate Roundtable President’s Council and Real Estate Executive Council. He is the board chairman for the Robert Toigo Foundation Alumni Endowment Board and vice-chairman on the board of trustees for the City Parks Foundation of New York.
