Colliers International South Florida has expanded its hotel brokerage expertise with the addition of John Wijtenburg as vice president. In this role, he will be focusing on hotel and resort investment sales throughout Florida. Wijtenburg brings more than a decade of commercial real estate and finance experience, having conducted underwriting, due diligence and transaction closing for more than $250 million of hotel real estate in the past five years.

“With direct tourism spending and annual visitors on the rise, it’s no surprise the tourism industry has a positive $67 billion impact on Florida’s economy. Empowering the hotel and resort development industry with creative real estate solutions is more important than ever,” said Ken Krasnow, executive managing director of Colliers International South Florida, in a prepared statement.

Wijtenburg will be joining the team of Colliers Executive Vice President Rich Lillis. “Florida attracts more than 100 million visitors each year, most of them accommodated in our nearly half million hotel rooms. Hotels are a most dynamic investment class,” said Lillis.
