BMG, a record label and music publisher, arranged a deal to consolidate its operations at a soon-to-be constructed 120,000-square-foot, Class A office building in Nashville, Tenn. The property, to be named The BMG Building, will rise on the site of the Country Music Association’s former headquarters and is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Located at 1 Music Circle S. in the heart of Music Row, the proposed BMG office space will feature songwriter/recording rooms and performance spaces, a collaborative floor plan, fully A/V-capable meeting spaces and conference rooms. Further amenities will include a large communal outside area and a terrace to be utilized for live events.

Tight-knit community

BMG’s team includes employees in accounting, artists and repertoire, administration, income tracking, marketing, publicity, radio promotions, royalties and sync licensing. The company will relocate from two existing Nashville offices, with the new space providing sufficient room to house the newly acquired BBR Music Group as well.

“The importance of staying on Music Row and honoring the ideal of a supportive, tight-knit and collaborative community was a priority to us all. Reflective of our shared philosophy and approach, this will maximize our team’s and our partners’ connectivity,” said Jon Loba, EVP of BBR Music Group, in prepared remarks.

Panattoni Development Co. is working with Tuck-Hinton Architects on the project, while Colliers International is in charge of the leasing assignment. The one-acre site provides direct access to Demonbreun Street and The Gulch and is walkable to restaurants, bars and shopping venues. This isn’t Panattoni’s first foray into Nashville’s Music Row. The real estate development company constructed a 95,000-square-foot office building at 35 Music Square E., which serves as the CMA’s current headquarters.
